Fifteen years ago, I received an ad in the mail for these amazing gardening boxes that would produce an incredible number of tomatoes on a single plant.
Earth Boxes are low maintenance.
They don’t have to be watered every day.
It is impossible to overwater them.
There is no weeding.
They can be placed on my deck.
I decided to give it a try. And they grow so much more…
March 20, 2019 – First Day of Spring
My summer gardening thoughts and dreams begin!
Earthboxes are a commercially available product that provides a labor-sparing method for growing vegetables and flowers. When I found myself unable to garden in the ground as I had done before, these were a manageable way to continue to grow food for my table. I live in central New Hampshire and in April have already begun planting Earthboxes for 2019.
Last night was my final harvest – except for the brussel sprouts which will wait for the first frost. Cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers, peppers, and PEPPERS!

The plants have all broken through the earth, even the cucumbers. AND the peppers and tomatoes have buds.
The thermometer dropped into the mid-40’s Fahrenheit last night. My 4 Basil plants braved the night and are thriving in the sun today.
